The PMF aims to continue to be free for its membership.
However, producing forums, newsletters, mailings and videos, as well as running a website,
a membership database, a mentoring scheme, and posting hundreds of job vacancies a year,
has associated costs.
We are, therefore, constantly looking for companies and individuals
who are willing to help us by supporting our activities.
We have Three Types of Sponsorship
- P Sponsors – regular sponsors of the Production of Mailings, Newsletters and Videos
- M Sponsors – sponsoring Mentees to enable them to get the most out of being Mentored
- F Sponsors – one off sponsorship of a Forum
Production Sponsorship – annually recurring sponsorship towards the production of PMF communication with its members and the wider world.
We produce regular mailings, newsletters and videos, all of which are key to supporting, engaging with and expanding our membership. There is a cost associated with each of these activities which Production Sponsors would help to cover.
What’s in it for a Production Sponsor?
- You will be helping us to continue to be able to communicate with our membership, as well as helping to promote and support the work of Production and Technical Managers.
- When you sign up as a Production Sponsor, subject to your agreement, we will send a dedicated mailing to the whole PMF membership talking about your company and your involvement. This will also be mentioned in the following newsletter.
- Your company name and logo will appear on each mailing, newsletter and video produced while you are a sponsor.
- On the PMF website – www.productionmanagersforum.org – we will post a news item about your involvement and include you on our sponsorship page.
Mentee Sponsorship – sponsoring PMF Mentees
Our mentoring scheme, relaunched this year, is proving extremely popular. We have around 30 (and counting) pairings of Mentors and Mentees, who mainly meet online. It would be extremely beneficial for Mentees to be able to shadow their Mentors at key points of the production process, particularly fit ups and production weeks.
Mentee sponsorship funds would be managed by the Mentoring Team, and Mentees would be invited to apply for funding to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
What’s in it for a Mentee Sponsor?
- You will be helping us enhance our Mentoring Scheme, which will directly benefit new and rising Production and Technical Managers.
- When you sign up as a Mentee Sponsor, subject to your agreement, we will send a dedicated mailing to the whole membership talking about your company and your involvement. This will also be mentioned in the next newsletter.
- Your company name and logo will appear on each mailing and webpage to do with Mentoring produced while you are a sponsor.
- On the PMF website – www.productionmanagersforum.org – we will post a news item about your involvement and include you on our sponsorship page.
Forum Sponsorship – a one off sponsorship of a specific Forum.
Forums are a key part of our mission in providing a platform for Production and Technical Managers to share ideas and knowledge with one another. Our Forums are now hybrid, with both in-person and on-line Zoom attendees. All our forums are recorded and are available on our website as a world-wide industry resource.
Forums are built around topics relevant to and suggested by our membership. The chair and panel members are chosen for their involvement, knowledge and insight into the Forum topic. We aim for the panel to be as diverse as possible, and it will always include a number of Production and Technical Managers. Questions and contributions from the ‘audience’ both at the venue and on-line are welcome.
Recent Forums have included:
- Diversity in Technical Theatre – at the ABTT Theatre Show 2023 – sponsored by TAIT
- The Dream Team. The Relationship between Production Managers and Designers – sponsored by J & C Joel.
- Sustainability – Working with the Green Book – at the ABTT Theatre Show 2022 – discussing implementing the Green Book into working practices. Supported by Drapemakers
- Where Has Everybody Gone? – a hybrid forum from Birmingham Rep, discussing the skills shortage. Supported by Pirate Crew
You can see videos of all our forums here
What’s in it for a Forum Sponsor?
- In sponsoring a PMF Forum you will be helping us to produce Forums which are available worldwide as an industry resource, as well as helping to promote and support the work of Production and Technical Managers.
- Your company name and logo will appear on the Forum logo, which is used in all publicity (website, emails, social media). You can see past logos on our forums page here
- The choice of wording is up to you. It can either be “The XYZ Forum, presented by The PMF and Your Company” or “The XYZ Forum presented by the PMF and made possible by the support of Your Company”
- You will have the option to propose a panel member for the Forum (subject to agreement with the PMF)
- At the Forum itself we will display any pop-up banner you may have, and your company will be thanked as part of the opening and closing remarks
- Your company name and logo will again appear at the start of the video of the Forum
- If you wish, we will also include a profile article about your company in the next PMF newsletter (up to 300 words)
- Forum Sponsorship is specifically used to cover expenses incurred in mounting and promoting the Forum, as well as paying the travel costs of panel members and providing them with refreshments.
The normal cost of any of our Sponsorships is between £300 and £500,
but we are always willing to discuss what you feel a Sponsorship is worth to your company.
