I am an aspiring production manager in my final year studying technical and production management at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Whilst at school I found myself hiding in the school’s drama department recording radio podcasts instead of going to form time. At that point I realised that maybe my heart was set on something different than mainstream academia. Then I went to work at Kirkgate Arts Venue in Cockermouth, where I became a stagehand, and at this point I knew that I wanted to fully commit. I studied for my level three extended diploma in Production Art at Kendal College where I learnt about lighting, video, sound and, of course, production management.
After nearly three years at Central, I’m very eager to experience working in all sorts of disciplines and to work in all types of theatre up and down the UK.
I found out about the PMF after procrastinating during lockdown in 2021, it was there that I realised that production managers were starting the conversations around the challenges we face in the industry. I’m excited to work with like-minded people and to learn more about the industry as I begin my career
