The Boulevard Theatre is the brainchild of Fawn James, a Director of Soho Estates, and granddaughter of Soho Estates’ founder Paul Raymond. The revived venue is located on the site where Paul Raymond opened the original Boulevard Theatre. Fawn intends to honour her grandfather’s legacy by helping to promote Soho as an arts and entertainment district. Rachel Edwards (Sweeney Todd – London & New York, Founder of Tooting Arts Club) is Artistic Director of the new Boulevard Theatre which will present its own productions together with a vibrant late-night and Sunday programme of live music, comedy, spoken word, cabaret and films.
The Auditorium is a revolving, two level, fully-adaptable playing space with a seated capacity of 165. It will showcase a vibrant, mixed entertainment programme of theatre, comedy, cabaret, music, film and literature. The bar and restaurant will offer an ever-changing menu alongside artisanal teas and coffee, delicious beers, wines and cocktails. Open for breakfast till late, these areas offer floor-to-ceiling views of Soho’s infamous streets and alleyways.
Ahead of the theatre’s scheduled opening in late 2019, the Boulevard Theatre is now seeking to appoint a Head of Technical. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development and opening of a new theatre in Central London.
The Head of Technical is responsible for leading the technical team and ensuring that the requisite technical resources and support are available for all activities in the venue including performances, events and private hires. This includes responsibility for all health and safety throughout the auditorium.
